Christmas in Ireland, Round 3

As has become our tradition, we stopped in Ireland again on our way back to Romania after visiting in NJ and Victoria.  This time we drove south and hit up the towns of Killarney, Dingle, the Ring of Kerry drive and the Slea Head Route.

First fish and chips and chowder of the trip!

On our first night in Killarney, we ventured out to find my bar, as was recommended by our friend Jodee.  And look at what was next door! HOW CUTE.

Trad sesh at my pub.

We only spent 1 night in Killarney before driving to the town of Dingle.  On the way, we hit up some sights like Ross Castle and the grounds of the Muckross House.  This is a tree, somewhere near the Muckross House.

Nestled between the mountains and the sea is the cute town of Dingle where we spent the next couple of days.

Fish and chips at The Fish Box.  We split up the meal before we took the picture which is why it looks so sad.  No excuse for why it’s so blurry.  Our deepest apologies.

We spent every evening in Dingle listening to music at a few different pubs and stayed out way past 10:00 pm.  The video above is from O’ Sullivan’s Courthouse Pub. We heard this song a few times and I love it.

Driving around the Dingle Peninsula.  These sleepy sheepies have natural blue wool.

Somewhere along the Dingle Pennisula on Slea Head Drive.

The Gallarus Oratory, built in the 15th century.  It rocked.

Thinking about the meaning of life and probably fish and chips.

Please be careful when you are looking at rainbows.

Put a bird on it.

Drinks at Foxy John’s, a bar and very organized hardware store.  We played “I spy” for over an hour.  Can you find the box of hammers?

More music at O’Sullivan’s Courthouse pub. We also spent lots of time at An Droichead Beag and Dick Mack’s Pub.

Read about our past trips to Ireland here and here. We’ll be back, there is more to see!
