Christmas in Ireland, Round 2

On the way to NJ and Victoria for Christmas we stopped in Ireland again for a few days of Guinness, sheep and beautiful post rain skies. The sheep welcomed us back with open arms. We got to spend a wee bit of time with our Angolan Irish buddy Aongus too!

First early morning drive out to Connemara National Park. The sun doesn’t rise on the west coast of Ireland until about 8:45am in December so we were up early most days to make the most of the few hours of daylight.
Photogenic sheep…they ran up to the car when we pulled over.
Walk about in Connemara National Park. Rain and lots of wind cut this hike pretty short.
Looking for Guinness in Connemara National Park
Found it! But at a darling little thatched roof pub in town which coincidentally is called Powers Thatch.
Mmm chowder and delicious cake like brown bread at Powers Thatch.
Getting ready for the lunch rush.
We spent 5 nights in Ireland based in Galway City. Its a really cute town right on the water. Lots of music, food and sights!
Good seats for a traditional music sesh at Taaffes Bar.
Meat pies at The Pie Maker
Day trip out to the Cliffs of Mor
